Alan E. Rapp
Alan is senior editor of art, design, and photography books at Chronicle Books, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2007. Chronicle Books is one of the most widely admired trade publishers in the U.S., with Adult, Children's, and Gift divisions, as well as several distribution clients. He has worked with such photographers as Jim Marshall, Elinor Carucci, Misty Keasler, Terry Falke, David Maisel, Linda Connor, Jo Whaley, and Jona Frank to bring their work to book publication.
Through panels, lectures, workshops, and portfolio reviews Alan works to inform photographers about the exigencies of photography books and the market. Alan is also a writer who contributes to such publications as San Francisco Magazine, Dwell, Photo District News, and Photo-eye Booklist.
